Reading for All: Engaging all readers through high-quality literature
27th Feb9:15am to 3:15pm Little Sutton Primary School, Worcester Lane, Sutton Coldfield, B75 5NL About this eventThis full-day training event invites primary English leaders and teachers to explore the breadth of literature needed to meet the expectations of the DfE Reading Framework and to nurture a lifelong love of reading in every child.
Drawing on her extensive experience as an English consultant, former Head Teacher and past Chair of the NAAE, Ruth Baker-Leask will guide participants through what a genuinely rich reading offer looks like in practice — one that reaches all readers through wide reading across genres, authors, forms, and cultures.
Throughout the day, delegates can browse and handle a diverse range of high-quality children’s literature, from poetry and picture books to contemporary novels, graphic novels and non-fiction. The session will provide practical tools for schools to refresh and refine their literature spines, enrich classroom book corners and libraries, and better understand children’s reading preferences and motivations.
Come ready to discover new texts, share ideas, and leave inspired to make reading irresistible for every child in your school.
